If there´s one thing which isn´t missing in Mallorca, it´s the amount of beaches we can choose from. Rocky, sandy, pebbled… Obviously everyone has their own preferred type of beach, but in Mallorca there´s always a beach to suit everyone´s taste.
MALLORCA BEACHES WHICH HAVE IT ALL? PLAYA DE MURO IS ONE OF THEM
Located in Muro, approximately 10km away from the small town, it occupies around 5.5km of coastline and is located within the bay of Alcudia.
It´s great extension and easy access allow it to have a large amount of visitors during the summer months, and you can always find somewhere to place your towels and sun shades.
Its´ white sand is one of the finest of all the island and its crystal clean waters invite you to cool down on the hottest days of summer where the only option is to be in the water or to hide under a sun umbrella. This beach is ideal for families, because you have to walk out quite far into the sea until the water gets deep, so parents can be reassured when it comes to the safety of their children.
It has four different sections we can choose from, depending on if we wish to enjoy closeness and commodity of services, or if we are looking to enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of authentic virgin beaches.
THE SECTORS OF PLAYA DE MURO ARE DEVIDED IN:
+ Sector I, the nearest to Alcudia beach, and in consequence, the most frequented in summer. There are many hotels and restaurants in the area where to eat and relax without having to go too far, and which has 5 life guards to guarantee the protection of swimmers.
+ Sector II goes from the Puente de los Ingleses until Es Comú, and is located in front of the Albufera nature park, where Mallorcan species are protected and which can be visited for free during the visiting times established. This is how we start to enter into the more natural area and not so frequented by tourists. We must say that tourism in this area is of quality, especially familiar thanks to the tranquillity the area offers.
+ Es Comú is the third part of the beach we can find in Playa de Muro. It has great length and is the virgin part of the Bay of Alcudia. Its waters are clear and its sand golden, and the fact of there not being any constructions in the area and it being surrounded by an area of pine trees and vegetation make it an ideal place for spending the day. It´s not very visited because it isn´t reachable by road, as it´s vegetation belongs to the Albufera of Alcudia which is protected, so it´s mainly visited by locals.
+ Sa Caseta des Capellans is the last part of Playa de Muro and has a frontier with the town of Santa Margalida. Being located next to Can Picafort, it has quite an affluence of people, and is a place known for its beach huts and multiple services offered. The same as the other parts of the beach, it´s water is also crystal clear and it´s sand fine and white.
VARIETY IN PLAYA DE MURO
Once we have explained how the beach and it´s sectors are, we must add that Playa de Muro accumulates a large amount of businesses, especially of touristic character, which are dedicated especially to hospitality.
Amongst these is Boulevard Building Centre, a shopping centre with a multiple variety of businesses where you can opt to go shopping in Voss shops, a fashion reference for the north of Mallorca, or to dine or relax with a delicious cocktail in Fusion19, where it´s obliged to stop if you ask where to eat in Mallorca in one if the best restaurants in Alcudia.
Coming to an end on this post we must mention that it´s well worth giving this Mallorcan marvel a look and enjoying the ideal atmosphere of its surroundings.
